Design: A sleek and sophisticated looking design gives the pavilion dv5t the upper hand over the competition. With a thin chassis the notebook posses’ an ultramodernized look which should appeal to anyone and everyone. The entire notebook is rounded off at the corners and its predominant colors are silver and black. There is also a hint of ‘liquid metal’. The keyboard feels quite incredible and touch typing is a breeze, you will definately feel if I dare say ‘cooler’ when writing up word documents on this notebook. ‘The status lights for power, battery charge, and hard disk activity are located in the front edge of the notebook, below the left palmrest. It is easy to see them when the display is closed, and the indicator labels above each light are even imprinted on the top of the display.’
- Under close inspection the HP Pavilion dv5t a good sturdy build. It is made out of high strength plastic and there is no flex of any kind in the palmrests. This laptop really does have a undoubtable quality build to it.
Performance: The HP Pavilion dv5t is outstanding when it comes to gaming performance. With a Nvidia GeForce 9600M-GT 512MB graphics card. Games run smoothly and at a relatively high fps (frames per second). Call of Duty 4 and Crysis were both benchmarked at relatively high resolutions and performed quite well in both tests.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, I highly recommend the HP Pavilion dv5t notebook as a ‘work’ and ‘play’ computer. At a great value it gives the user most if not all the features and capabilities that any other high priced laptop currently available does. With a marvellous design, sleek visuals, a great 15.4inch screen and superb performance this notebook definately gets a 9/10.

This computer is really not worth a dollar. I wonder if the HP dv6t is better.
- First, the battery life is ridiculous. After 18 months it’s reduced to less than 5 minutes. From the emails (currently 9) I exchange with the support HP is aware of the problem and will not do anything to solve it. You have to expect to change the battery every year so add $100 annually to the costs.
- Second, the heat. This computer heats so much you cannot keep your hands on the keyboard. I had to elevate mine from my desk to facilitate the cooling otherwhise it would shut down automatically on hot days (above 80F-27C).
- Third, the noise. With the heating problem come the noise problem: the fan is nearly always at full speed even if the computer is idle and that’s very noisy.
- Fourth, it comes with a ton of HP software installed, which connects to the internet and freezes the computer for a few seconds multiple time every day.
- Fifth, ghost processes. From time to time, the hard disk starts to run crazy, with nothing showing up in the task manager. It’s imposssible to use the computer during that time and it can last for 5 or 10 minutes.
This computer is the worst I ever had and I had a lot of them. Choose wisely by choosing something else.
Thanks for showing the wonderful PC to us all. I have used a laptop for so many years and felt bored for a long time. I will buy a PC and I’ll choose that one on the article. The reason is that I will not use any table to keep it. i see it also another article with the same subject available in this URL:
