An effective way to sell your products without owning a website

So you just created a product and you want to sell it, BUT you don’t own a website. And can’t figure out any other effective medium in which you can distribute it. Well you may or may not have thought of this before, but sell your products on forums. It may take a week and a few hundred posts to get your respect up on the discussion board but it’s actually really easy selling a product or service on popular forums.  I made $100 in one day selling a $7 product.

There are two discussion boards that I recommend you take a stab at.  Digital Point and Namepros. These forums have been the easiest for me to sell products or services on. First you will need to set up a legit account nothing that reeks of seller spam. Enter your CORRECT email address, I have found this to be very helpful as some members actually end up contacting you via email if something happens to your account or if you are unavailable.

Selling on forums is great practice for when you do establish an actual website, it gives you the ability to rethink your selling strategies and to see whether any of the forum members are converting. To make your thread more appealing, keep it to the point and don’t make it too ambiguous. You should always offer at least one review copy free of charge to another member as this will DRASTICALLY increase your credibility and your sales. When selling on forums I find it helpful to have a dynamic (changing) price. Don’t just leave it as $10 the entire time.  Start your offer at say $5 for the first two people then $10 for the next 3 and so forth.  You should also imply a sense of urgency in your sale, whether it be by the font you use, the color, the size etc.

Affiliate marketing will not work on discussion boards so don’t even bother, you will get warned and possibly banned. In conclusion if you don’t own a website or just don’t have any money for web hosting, selling your products on forums is the easiest and fastest solution. It significantly helps your conversions if the forum is targeted towards your product niche. By that I mean it’s much better if the forum is actually about what you are selling.
