5 Ways to make the most out of your day
What can you do to have a productive day?
With all the advancement the human race has experienced since turn of the century people seem to have a lot less time in their day. In fact scientists say that an average 24 hour day is more like a 16 hour day now. And this figure will only tend to decrease in the future. I for one must admit that when performing a task I sometimes loose track of time and realize that many hours have passed.
Here are a few basic methods you can do to utilize each and every day and be more productive with your work, social life, hobbies etc. One of the most important things to note before we start is that you should ALWAYS have a positive attitude, even when things are bad try to get something good out of it, it’s just another learning curve. Seriously, you will find that even from the worst moment in your life something good has come out of it. Whether it was that you became a stronger person, made a new friend, learn’t something new or whatever it may be. Be optimistic not pessimistic.
Wake up early
Remember the old saying “the early bird gets the worm”, well this couldn’t hold more true in this case. Don’t sleep in until noon, wake up at early, preferably between 7am-8am. If you get up early you will actually feel less drowsy and tired than if you were to wake up at say 11 or 12. Also, if you do wake up early, theres no need to just lay in bed for hours on end. Get right into your day.
Have a goal
Have some sort of goal that you want to achieve by the end of the day, for example you can wake up and tell yourself that you want finish those papers for work or create another website or ride your bike in the park. Whatever it is, have a number of goals, this actually gives you the motivation to aim towards something and will lessen the boredom you feel throughout your day. Also tend to do most of your work in the beginning of the day, this will give you that feeling of ‘accomplishment’ or ‘purpose’.
Wear a watch
A watch really does help you keep track of time, as soon as you wake up pick up your watch place it on your wrist and start your day. I guarantee you are much less likely to loose track of time if you are wearing a watch. This is simply because at times you will find yourself glancing at your watch to check the time, or it may just fall into your field of vision. Eventually your brain will subconsciously learn to keep track of time better that it would have before.
Don’t move for an hour
I think it was Tony Robbins who once taught this idea, of not moving from 30 minutes – 1 hour. Basically, for at least 30 minutes a day you sit down and don’t move. I guarantee you will have a great temptation to move or get up or anything for the first 20 minutes or so. After that it will be easy and all the problems or worries that you have at that point in time will slowly drift away or you will natural flowing answers. If you don’t know what to do about that overdue payment or your children’s bad grades, just sit still for an hour or so and you will see the answers naturally flow into your mind. Don’t try to focus on your problems or worries.
Communicate
Don’t sit in solitude, humans were created with the ability of speech and communication. Talk to people, talk to your friends, discuss issues and learn from others, things that you didn’t already know. However, don’t just spend hours watching tv or even the news. Make your own news.
In conclusion
I had a good closing paragraph in mind, but it slipped out of my mind. If I remember it i’ll edit it back into here. The final thing I would like to say is that each and everyday do at least one thing that you enjoy doing. If you enjoy riding a bike, then ride a bike. If you enjoy riding a skateboard, then ride a skateboarding. If you enjoy singing, then by all means sing. Take into mind the steps above and I guarantee you will have much more productive day.

Nice post.
I’ve found “wake up early” one of the hardest to do on a consistent basic but brings the best results.
You can get a lot done first thing in the morning when its quiet and free from distractions.

I think that you should also write down the list of the things that you want to accomplish and mark them off as you complete them. I always find this to be helpful and motivational to chart my progress through the day. I usually start off with some low hanging fruit to get my wheels spinning. Then I tackle the harder stuff.
