Wordpress Search Engine Optimization Internal Link Tweak

We all know its good to have a higher internal link structure, links to each page in your main page from each page. It helps your overall ranking if you have more internal links linking to specific pages of your site. So instead of having posts filed under different category sections in wordpress, place them as LINKS in LINK CATEGORIES in your wordpress site.

For example, you can see the way I have it set up on the right >. I have my main link categories and then all my posts placed as links under the corresponding link category. This is isn’t all that hard to set up, but may take some time if you have been using regular categories or the recent posts widget up to now.

Basically, what you have to do is go to your dashboard > manage > link categories. If you haven’t yet delete all the existing links that came with your wordpress blog, these should be in your blogroll. Create the link categories you need and delete all your previous categorical posts and all that stuff.

Now, go back to dashboard > write > link. You now have to create a link for each specific post. This may take awhile if you have many posts. Just add the name of your post, followed by the url.

link categories > tutorials

You can also add a description if you want. Repeat for all your posts.
Next time you go to write a post, after you finished it just go back to write > link and create a link for it and add it to the corresponding link category.

This should significantly increase the amount of internal links you have.
